The 29th annual ICC Landscape and Garden Day will be
held on Saturday, September 12th from 9 AM to 3 PM.
The theme this year is “Made in Japan.” Seminars will be
held in the horticulture building. Peoria Garden Club will
be giving away free plants and have a table displaying
information and photos about PGC’s civic projects and
events. It’s a fun day and we hope many PGC members
can attend!

Destination: “Funks Grove Maple Syrup Tour”, lunch and more!
Time/Date: Tues. March. 16, meet the bus at 9:00am, Lakeview Museum
parking lot, returning around 4pm.
Location: Shirley and Bloomington, IL

Instead of a workshop, we will meet at Lakeview parking lot and go to Funks
Grove to see maple syrup being made. This family owned-business has been
making syrup since 1860, south of Bloomington in Shirley, IL. The current
owners are Debbie and Mike Funk. Their gift shop sells the syrup as well as
maple truffles covered in dark chocolate, cream and cookbooks. We will also
visit the historic Funk Prairie Home, the family home built in 1863, still containing
all the original family furniture. (more details of Funks Grove:
www.funkspuremaplesyrup.com) Lunch will be at Biaggi’s in Bloomington,
followed by a visit to Whole Foods and The Garlic Press & Deli.

Open to all. You are welcome to invite non-PGC member guests. Cost is $30,

This program will be a talk and slide presentation about building and caring for a garden pond. If you have a pond or have ever considered a pond or small watergarden in your landscape, this is an opportunity to ask all your questions in arelaxed setting. There will be plenty of time for discussion with an experienced amateur.

Project: “Pussy Willow & Forsythia Wreath”
Time/Date: Tues. April 20 at 9:30am
Location: Lakeview Museum Classroom, upstairs

We will be making a pussy willow and forsythia wreath with a bow for your spring door decoration. Bring scissors or wire cutters. All other materials will be furnished. However, if you have fresh pussy willows and want to add them to wreath, bring them
along. The cost is $15 a person. Payment is due at or before the meeting.
Pay at the April general meeting.

Cost: Tickets for the Walk are $15 up until June 9. Luncheon price is $16. You may purchase the Walk tickets at either our PGC April or May meetings, or at area local gardening businesses to receive the $5 discount, up to June 9th. Day of Walk tickets will be $20.
